A new 3D project has begun! This assignment is to create a modular sci-fi hallway with texturing and lighting. Above, you can see my first pass at modeling and lighting. There are no textures applied (hence the checker pattern on everything). Models were created in Maya 2016, texture will be added using Substance Painter, and the level will be run in Unreal Engine 4.
My conecpt for my hallway was inspired by a few things. I got the idea to use pinks, purples, and blues for the colors from Halo. The covenant ships within this game are all comprised of these hues, as are their weapons. I will use both texture and lighting to make this possible.
For the shape and layout I used hexagonal and octagonal shapes. I imagine this corridor belonging to some sort of insect-like alien, and I thought the repetitive geometric shapes would enhance this idea - like the honeycombs of a beehive.
